About the band/artist
"Self-proclaimed as "drunk pop", it's an apt description for music that just gets better with each swig but seems to be teetering towards collapse with each measure. Their music is full of buzz-saw melodies and riotous abandon as evidenced in their popular anthem, "Let's Make Babies." – Erwin Romulo (UNO Magazine)

Not to be misled by the name, The Bernadettes is an all-male Indie Rock group based in the city of Las Piñas, Philippines with an ardent love for Brit-pop and post punk music. Their influences ranges from The Who and Joy Division of the late 70s, The Smiths, Jesus & Mary Chain and The Cure of the 80s to Blur and Teenage Fanclub of the 90s.

Conceptualized in Geneva, Switzerland by the brothers Paolo Angeles (vox) and Poch Angeles (guitars), they continued to make inroads by writing and doing gigs till they settled back in the Philippines with a solid line up and permanent band name by middle of 2007 recruiting Rommel Asuncion (bass) and Andre Salazar (drums) to complete the rhythm section.

They recently signed with Lilystars Records, the indie-label that houses The Camerawalls, and is currently working on a full-length album set for release before 2009 comes close to an end. Prior to the album the band thru their label will release a series of singles, the first of which will be their signature song “Let’s Make Babies,” digitally thru iTunes and Amazon MP3.

Humorously dubbing their music as “Drunk Pop” and claiming it is best played and listened drunk is as catchy as a recruiting slogan. With a high sense of recollection in their tunes and a live performance of striking vigor and charisma they were regarded by people who discover them as one of the bands to look out for 2009.
