About the band/artist
Pinoy Rock's Best Kept Secret: The PowerTones to release long awaited EP "Four" see poster here Set for release around September 2008, "Four" will include: "Kama"-The PowerTones' first track, which reached the RJ UR Pinoy Rock Countdown early this year. The track's modern take on the ever potent twelve-bar formula has painted the band's sound with it's explicit craving for debauchery and excess.Check out the third verse to find out just how many can fit in the Kama! "Bulilyaso"-satirical attack on the current Filipino band scene; it sweeps thru the mundane reality of deteriorating musicianship--as the eyeliner-wearing, English-swearing, conyotic, "industry leaders" talk thru their hairgel and rant, "Go Out and Form a Band!"--Ulol. "Hamon"-early experimentations on coagulating the band's 150-song pondo-repertoire(used when the group was still playing cheap night-offs and girlie bars) drew sounds that are heard on this track. Forward thrusting riffs sends off the song as it swivels into odd time funk in the verses and then finally shoots up into an ethereal chorus. Watch out for the Armed Forces marching in full battle gear before the guitar solo sings...and pays tribute to all hardworking achievers: artists, althletes and scholars. and finally, "Biyaheng Langit"--inspired by the Patok jeepneys of Marikina-The PowerTones Hometown..Press play and discover the "reckless driving song" characteristics of the track.Tints of U2 and Led Zeppelin are traced all over this one...kitakita tayo sa Langit You can buy copies of "Four" in any of The PowerTones' gigs, or by ordering thru text @0927-943-79-47, 0919-291-59-19 and www.thepowertones.multiply.com
